My life would suck without you.

I know, I know... I have been very delinquent in my writings. I can use the old excuse that I have been too busy, which I do, but really I think the problem lies within the fact that I am never home! I find myself on the road travelling to and fro and if I could simply dictate my thoughts and have them delivered here to you, you would be up-to-date on my goings on. Which, let me tell you, really are not all that exciting. And on second thought, if I were to dictate while driving you may get more than you bargained for, hearing exactly how un-classy this mouth of mine is. Believe me, I can throw it down with the best of 'em!

Speaking of driving... Here is what has inspired me to get back at these keys and give you something to read. For those of you who know me, you know that I have been driving what I have referred to as a "Clown Car" for the past 8 months. A car, that while sitting in, I felt like a giant, all 5 foot 3 inches of me was crammed into this little beast.

I think my sister, Harmony, may recall a certain incident in the driveway on December 31st 2012, where we all (by all I mean, Harmony, Gus (#1 Son), Ethan (1 of my 2 Favourite Nephews), Rocco (20lb Wonder Dog) and myself) tried to take a drive to Orangeville with Harmony's suitcase, my overnight bag, ok - it isn't the smallest, but sure as heck isn't a full sized suitcase, and 2 backpacks.

Let me tell you, Harmony heard her share of colourful language, while my boys watched in horror as their Mom/Auntie; respectively, threw the biggest adult temper tantrum ever. Suitcases were flying, Eff bombs were flying, it was all hanging loose right there on old Church Crescent for all to see. It was a spectacle to watch me wrangle our personal belongings and children to get us to Orangeville.

Let's just sum it up by saying, the boys each sat with some sort of case of alcoholic beverage on their lap while a dog sat atop a backpack between them. Inappropriate? Yes, probably. Necessary? Sadly, yes.

I suffered through 5 more months with my minuscule wee vehicle, right through hockey season, where I wrestled with Hockey bags and battled snowy roads. And I thought I might be ok. I thought I might make it in my little car. That was until soccer season hit. When I went to put my most loved soccer chair into the car... and it didn't fit!!! WHAT THE HECK!? It is a fold up chair. I either had to put the seats down, slide it in the backseat or angle it in just so to the back and listen to it rattle against the window while driving.

This was pushing me precariously close to my breaking point, but I was battling through it…. For a couple of weeks. Then one sunny afternoon, Gus & I decided that I had neglected the little Nissan for long enough, we were going to give the stupid thing a thorough cleaning. During which time, I nearly managed to concuss myself multiple times while trying to maneuver the vacuum around the car. That was it! Gus and I packed up and headed to Hanover Chrysler Dodge Jeep, I was feeling a need to be reunite with my true love… JEEP.

My favourite car salesman EVER, Mitchell Fletcher, had to do a bit of work, but he did it, he got me out of the Nissan and into a beautiful, dark silver, JEEP Wrangler Sahara Unlimited. She is truly a thing of beauty.

I was stupid for telling the Jeep goodbye. Maybe I was wrong to trade her in. I know I have issues.  But that trade in was pretty messed up too. Either way I found out I am nothing without you…
Cause we belong together now!

I am completely head over heels in love with my Jeep. She is so pretty and she looks absolutely FAB in my driveway.

Forever united here. You got a piece of me. My life would suck without you.

I love you Jeep.

Self Discovery, Healing & Bullsh*t

Here I am, sitting at my desk in the ol' workplace, for my last Tuesday here. After Friday, it's all done. I am no longer a business owner. Not only that, I have no workplace whatsoever. WHAT?! On the upside of a limited income (soon to be zilch-o income) is I can now say I am in recovery. My name is Tasha and I am a recovering Shopaholic. It's been a path of discovery and self-healing. I have really found myself and the deeper meaning of my need to be a consumer. Do I need 10 different purses? Do I need shoes in every colour? Do I need 3 drawers full of make-up? Who the hell am I kidding?! Of course I do! YES! I need all of these things! I need to shop. Its in my blood. Its who I am. I shop, therefore I am. Money does not buy happiness. Bullsh*t. Money does indeed buy me the things I need to be happy. My life needs Things. Discovery and self-healing? The only discovery I need to make is whatever new stock Winners has just put out. The se...

Restaurants, Long Weekends and Resentment

Do you have a bathroom? After years of being in the restaurant business, I cannot express the happiness I feel at the prospect of having a long weekend off! Long weekends in a restaurant mean more work, longer hours and resentful thoughts to all those happy travellers who stop in and ask "do you have a bathroom?" To which you are always tempted to say, no, sorry we don't, there's a bucket out back you can use though. Do you have a bathroom? I am always shocked when I hear people ask this question, what the heck!? Of course, there is a bathroom! Whether you can use it or find it, now that is the real question. "Do you have a menu?" Nope, sorry we aren't that type of restaurant. "Is everything you have on the menu?" No we have a secret menu too, but we only show that to people we like. Last table in the restaurant... "Oh sorry, are we holding you up?"   Would you like something to drink... "No- I'll hav...

Ruffling my Feathers

I received my first “call from the principal” last week. He informed me that Gus had been in a fight. I am pretty sure my “I don’t give a @#$*” attitude surrounding the call did not go unnoticed.   However, I know my kid and if he got in a fight, well 1 of two things happened 1) his little fiery Greek temper reared its ugly head (that’s hereditary – so to be fair how can you get mad at a kid for his heritage??) or 2) someone really pissed him off. It seems it was the latter. It all had to do with a ball. I would venture to guess that this is what most 10 year old boys fight over; ball possession.   Seems the “victim” of this fight stole a ball and wouldn’t give it back when asked politely and then not so politely with a shove as he walked away. As it were, it came to fisticuffs. Later, when having the “talk” about the altercation, Gus explained to me, that after the first push by him, the other boy pushed him to the ground and started wailing on ...
